UGH!!!

Hello friends, as I mentioned in my previous entry, I am sick. All day (& night) on Tuesday & Wednesday I coughed and coughed, it seemed like with out a break. I know I didn't sleep both those nights only a couple of hours. Well Thursday morning I got up out of bed feeling worse that I had ever felt. I called my hubby and said, "I've gotta go to the urgent care" and he said ok, and I drove to where he was (how I did it I haven't a clue) but I went to see the doctor at our local urgent care and I have.... drum roll please.... dum dum dum.... acute bronchitis! He said it started out as a cold, and turned into bronchitis because of my asthma. He is worried that it might turn into pneumonia and has ordered me to stay in bed, complete bed rest only getting up to go to the bathroom or sitting up to eat. Well here I am laying on the sofa watching Barnie with my 4 year old....I think this is resting right??

Well I am off... I am getting tired from the meds he gave me. Yawn yawn!
TTYS!

Designing Layouts...by Donna Downey

Hey guys... I woke up after sleeping 45 minutes... coughing is NO FUN!! I can't lay down because I just cough and cough... but when I sit up I am bored and fall asleep and then fall over and then cough and cough. So to keep me occupied I started reading some blogs.... I don't know why, but I love Donna Downey's blog called "simply me" it gives me great ideas. And today's entry entitled "Designing Layouts" is no different... I took her challenge and created two LOs from her two sketches. The first one I flipped 90 degrees counter clockwise, the second I left as is. BUT I used both sketches for a 2 page LO. Here the are....

Televison Icons...

Name your top seven television icons.

Ok, well here is my list...

1. Catherine & Vincent from the CBS show from 1987, Beauty & the Beast. I adore this show!! This is what I think "real" love is really about, not about sex or the warped ideas people have today.

2. Captain Jean-Luc Picard of the starship Enterprise NCC 1701-D. I love Star Trek, and Captain Picard is my favorite captain of all time. The actor that plays Jean-Luc is sexy Patrick Stewart, I know he is old enough to be my father...but I just love him!! I also loved him in X-Men, Bambi II and Chicken Little. I think it's his voice. ;) Then in the same show, is Lt. Commander Worf... WOAH BABY!!

3. Since we are on the Star Trek ship... I love Captain Jonathan Archer on Enterprise. Before Janeway... Before Sisko... Before Picard... Before Kirk, there was... Captain Jonathan Archer!! And as the tagline says... "Forget what you think you know, it won't help you here."

Captain Archer is played by the very handsome Scott Bakula and that leads to my #4

4. is Dr. Sam Beckett in Quantum Leap, Scientist Sam Beckett finds himself trapped in time--"leaping" into the body of a different person in a different time period each week... there is just something cool about that!! Sam is just your everyday ordinary guy that just so happens to be super smart and have a photographic memory. Then there is his famous side kick, Al Calavicci who is an Admiral in the Navy and a playboy... only because the love of his life marries someone else while he was MIA in Viet nam. That is in episode M.I.A. where Al tells Sam that he has to convince a Navy nurse that her MIA husband is still alive, and it happens to be Al's wife.

5. Jarod is a Pretender, a very intelligent person with the ability to be anything at all, and can do anything at all. For that purpose, he has been taken from his family as a child in order to work for a secret agency called The Centre. But recently, he escaped. Jarod's new mission in life is to help people in need with his gift, and to find out what really happened to his allegedly dead parents. Only, Miss Parker and her team are out to get him... Jarod is played by Michael T. Weiss, you might reconize his voice from Disney's Tarzon, he was grown up Tarzon.

6. Quinn Mallory, from Sliders, while working on an anti-gravity machine, accidentally creates a portal to a parallel universe. Eventually, his friends and an unwilling participant accidentally get stuck traveling among parallel worlds, trying to survive, and learning that sliding can lead to fatal results.

7. And of course there is the most gorgeous Ricky Stratton played by Ricky Schroder. I loved Silver Spoons, it was about The story of young Ricky Stratton and his millionaire father, Edward Stratton III who is a toy company magnate who is still a child at heart; his giant Long Island estate is decorated with expensive toys. On the same day his lawyer and business advisers tell him that he is totally bankrupt, he discovers he has a 12-year-old son named Ricky, the product of an ill-fated six-day marriage. The computer-savvy Ricky comes to the house from the military school where his mother left him and discovers that one of his father's business managers embezzled from Edward. He uses the computer to transfer the stolen money back into the company's account. While initially reluctant to let the boy live with him, Edward eventually agrees because the two of them agree they can learn a lot from one another. I was gonna marry Ricky Schroder...darn he is married now and so am I!! LOL
Well guys... that's my post for today... I know NOT much at all. I got this off of some other blog I visited recently and thought it would be perfect. It's 9:30 PM and I am beat. So I am off to bed.
******
Oh, yeah... (I guess this would be a P.S.) I found a NEW blog that is just so darn funny!! Check out Because I Said So... it's a great blog and funny, because it's real life! A friend of mine (can't remember who...sorry) posted a post on one of the many sites I stalk, a link to an ebay auction, and it was so funny... She was trying to sell a bunch of Pokemon cards, read this story and you will laugh your butts off!!

Life aint always beautiful....

I haven't done the Scrapping the Music Challenge in a few weeks, and I thought I would go and check out what song they had on there for this week. It just so happen to be a song that I was hoping for, I love Gary Allen! I was at the Doctor's office one day and saw a People magazine with him on the cover. I sat there and read the article, it was about his wife who commit suicide (GAC news), I was so touched by the loved he had for his wife and how he dealt with the pain.

Everytime I hear this song I think of my sister, Marsha Livingston. My sister didn't commit suicide, but died suddenly from a heart problems. It was really hard for me. She was always there for me and at Christmas time (2005) she was up here in Michigan, and wanted to see me but her & I got into an arguement about me reconnecting with my birth mother and I didn't go and see her and it was left with a lot of anger. Then on January 9th she died, and we never got a chance to make up. For the whole rest of the year of 2006 I was depressed and blamed myself for the arguement. So I did this LO in memory of her.

Two new LOs, Zicam, Turkey Day and Puffs plus with vicks

Hello my friends. I had a good Thanksgiving - ate WAY too much turkey, and my cake went off really good...my mother n' law LOVED it. I keep getting phone calls from some lady name Ann Gabel... who is she? She knew we were going up north, so I think she might have read my blog, because she called my mother n' laws house but wouldn't tell her who she was.

Our whole family has colds, we are trying some new stuff. My husband & I are trying Zicam, we've never heard of it before and we saw a commerical for it over the weekend. It's saspose to reduce the duration and severity of cold symptoms, we got the "RapidMelts" tablets. You need to put it in your mouth and let it dissolve, but oh my goodness...it tastes horriable!!! And you need to do this every 3 hours!!! YUCK!!! My hubby says it's tastes fine...he is a weird-o!! On a good note, I found that Puffs has a new line, it has a scent of VICKS in it!! Oh my goodness...it helps my sinus' and clears my nose sooooo good!!

Over the Thanksgiving weekend I got only three pages done. I spent most of the weekend sleeping, reading books & watched a lot of Law & Order. :)

I did a two page LO on my hubby's 4 point buck. I used Raspberry Road kit again. I really love Raspberry Road.

Then I did a LO about the first snow fall.. I used Raspberry Road on this one too. I love Raspberry Road!!!

Happy Thanksgiving....

Well, I am off until Sunday afternoon. My family & I are all going up north to my in-laws for Thanksgiving, and my dh gets in a little more hunting.... he can get one more Buck and a Doe...so he wants to try to fill those licenses up. We have a lot of fun up north during Thanksgiving time...(and I am hoping to get some more time to do some digi LOs...I know it seems that I am "conferting" to digi, but really I am not...it just seems easy to take my Laptop and a couple of disks than all my traditional scrapbooking things)

I made Paula Deen's Pumpkin Gooey Butter Cake, I saw her make it on Rachael Ray. I made it for my family and we LOVED it, so I also made it to take to my in-laws for Thanksgiving. I think this will become "my" dish to take to events...!! (Don't forget to add Cool Whip to it...yum-o!) Marty also got me a new mixer! My old one, which we've had since we got married - it was a wedding gift from his grandparents almost 15 years now, the gears or something were burning out...it really smelt bad last time I used it. So Marty & I looked at Wal-Mart and we got a Sunbeam Mixmaster.... I completely love it!! I will be doing a lot of baking for a few months, so he gave it to me as an early Christmas gift. :)

Scrappin' Plans...

2 peas Challenge for Saturday... "What are your scrappin plans for today?"

Well, I don't have any plans for today, plan on spending time with the kids, make brownies and watch some movies. But yestreday I did a lot of Digital Scrapbooking... I got 15 pages done... I did almost all of my wedding photos. I already have a traditional 12x12 album that I finished last year...but I got on a role and just couldn't stop. I really had a lot of fun.

Here's a slide show of all of the LOs, not all of them I did today, but like I said 15 of them I did today...

Well off to do some dishes before I go to bed, it's after midnight, and I did nothing but scrapbook all day!!

Happy Scrapping!!

Deer Season... *whine*

Well, it's actually 1 o'clock in the morning, my sweet hubby left for his yearly hunting trip on Wednesday to his mom & dad's place up north. He waited until the boys got off the bus so he could say goodbye. All the kids really miss him, they prayed last night before bed that "daddy would be safe and not get himself shot." LOL

Like I said in previous post, I am happy that he gets to go and do one of his passions, I just HATE that he is not here at night! I can't sleep without him here, old fears return and freak me out. That's why it's after 1 am and I am still awake. Before he left he was packing his clothes and said to me, "You know I told my mom that I might not be able to go..." (he was waiting for a builder to pay him) "...and mom said that I couldn't miss, it would be the first time I ever missed opening day." I said, "well that wouldn't be the end of the world would it?" Totally ignoring my comment he says, "She's gonna be so happy." Oh my goodness!! I'm married to a "momma's boy!" Don't get me wrong, I love him and I know he loves me. And he is a great husband and father. I just wish ONCE he would choose me over his parents...
*******
Anyways I did get to get two Digi LOs done tonight. The first one I got from a blog that I stalk , she has a tutorial on how to create PHOTO LETTERS and I so wanted to try it out...but wanted to wait until I was alone to really go through it (thanks Sarah!). Her tutorial was for Photoshop CS, I have Photoshop CS3, so I had to check out the HELP in CS3 to get the changes...but the tutorial was AWESOME! I knew when I saw her LO of her and her husband in Disney World, that it would look awesome with the pics from our day at Comerica Park.

The second one is of our wedding pics. I have our 12x12 wedding photo album finished, but I thought I would try out doing them in Digital. I can't print them out in 12x12, I have to do them 8x8 - so when I print them out... I can get a nice 8x8 album and put them all in there. It's always nice to have another book somewhere right?? LOL

If I were a flower, I'd be...

(First off, this is not my photo... I found it on Yahoo! Search)
*****
2 peas challenge today is "If I were a flower, I'd be..." I think I would be a Daisy, the daisy is my birth flower. They are so simple and gorgeous! I have always loved daisies. Any color and any size, they are beautiful. When you look at one you just can't help but smile... :) I also love lilacs & who doesn't love roses...but daisies are it.
*****
I have done another LO, this one I used Kristie Bruin & a Raspberry Road flower.
