More about my dad...

We went to the hospital today and my dad's doing actually good. He was sitting up and had visitors all day, and was very chatty. He is still not over the hump, and still not eating....but they have an IV in and he isn't dehydrated anymore. Tomorrow they will be putting a "pick line" in, and if I'm not mistaken, it will start giving him nourishment. Now lets just pray that he stays eating and getting that nourishment he needs.

Thanks guys!

Update on my dad

He has fluid on his right lung, his left lung is gone pretty much from kemo and radiation. He also has Pnumonia (hope I am spelling that right) and an infection in his bowels. He has, like I told you in previous post, given up!! He told me & my sister many times that he is done fighting. So, it's just a matter of time before he passes away. He wont be leaving the hospital, and the nurse says it probley wont take very long for him to go especially since he wont eat anything at all.

Update on my dad

I don't know if I will be around much, it's 11:47 pm on Friday night, and I just got back from the hospital. My dad doesn't look like my dad anymore, he is so frail and week. He told us he is done and he just doesn't want to fight anymore. So I probley wont be around for a little while, I will try and come post updates when I get a chance. Please pray for us, my brother Rickey, my sister Kerry, my dad's friend Lynne & my aunts & uncles...and my dad, Mickey.

I did this Layout I did back in October; I know the paper is by Shabby Princess, but don't know where the flower is from, probley Shabby Princess too.

Just a quick message...

Hey guys, I just wanted to stop in and let ya'll know that I'm still around. LOL Things are really crazy here, I was in a therapist's office yestreday from 12:30 to 3:10!! I am tired of being not home! Well, I gotta go in about an hour, and might not get back on until late tonight. I do want to share with you what God showed me this morning...

2 Corinthians 4:8-9 (NIV)
We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not
in despair; persecuted, but not abandoned; stuck down, but not
destroyed!

Isn't that GREAT!!! No matter what we are not left to be crushed, not left in despair, not abandoned and not destroyed! I want to thank Shirlene for this, she sent it to me on Monday, but it didn't seem to sink in until this morning!! Ok, here is the next version...

2 Corinthians 4:8-9 (NLT)
We are pressed on every side by troubles, but we are not crushed &
broken, we are perplexed, but we don't give up & quit, we are hunted
down, but God never abandons us. We get knocked down, but we get up
again & keep going!

Wow that just amazes me!!! Isn't that awesome!!! I am just so excited, I don't have to stay in the sadness or the hopelessness that I've been feeling!! Yippee!!

There is no update on my dad he is still the same. We are going out to the rehab on Saturday. So we will see how he seems towards me then, we are going to take him a TV, and hopefully he will be greatful...who knows?? Here is a pic I took of him on the 13th of this month at his house.

My favorite Childhood Toy!

My favorite childhood toy was Winnie the Pooh. I slept with him up until I was a preteen. At times it felt like he was the only one listening to me or the only one who was my friend. I remember once he was lost and my grandparents tried to give me an imposter, but eventually my Winnie the Pooh was found. He has lost his little red shirt, has had many operations, and his eyes aren't so bright... but that smile still tells me that he loves me. :)

Journaling: "I re-arranged my bedroom one day, and decided to lay down and rest, and I snuggled next my old friend, Winnie the Pooh, and said to him, "you've been through everything with me." I've had Pooh since I was almost 2 years old (maybe even before then). We were constant companions, together all the time. Every night I couldn't fall alseep without him near me. He's been through many things with me, every sickness, every happy time and all the sad times too! I'm 35 years old and his place, the place of honor, is still on my bed!"

********************************************
Update on my dad, he is doing better. I haven't been able to talk to him because they moved him to a rehab nursing home about an 1 1/2 away, and he doesn't have phone service yet. My sister called me last night and gave me his phone number that will be hooked up sometime this week, and we are planning on seeing him on Saturday. Keep praying for the whole situation, it just gives me a headache and I don't want to deal with it.
Happy Scrapping!

Inspiration...

Faith Sister's Blog Challenge... Look out your window, what do you see? How does it inspire you? How can you relate it to scrapbooking?

This is what I see, does it inspire me?? I love snow, I love the way it looks, especially on Michigan Pine Trees!! Ok, so I don't know if my pine tree is a 'Michigan Pine Tree' but I still love how it looks. I like it even better when the Christmas Lights are under it. :) It reminds me of all things wonderful & beautiful! How it relates to scrapbooking... It gives me such inspiration to see all the white pretty snowflakes falling down from the sky.

It's been so very cold here. It's 20 degrees out right now, but it feels like 7 degrees. Brrrrrr it's really cold!! I hate it! I love snow, but I hate the cold so much!

*************************************************************

Update on my father...

The test for C-Diff came back negative, which is good, and they are retesting him today or tomorrow. My plan was to go visit him today, but that didn't happen, my daughter's school was canceled because of heater problems, and I couldn't find a babysitter. I probley wouldn't have been able to see him, my tonsils are swollen again and they are not letting anyone in to see him that are sick or have infections. Keep praying for him, he told me that they are moving him to physical therapy.

Ok, that's all I have for now... Have a GREAT day!!

It's my LIFE!

Today's Faith Sister Blog challenge is ...Tell your life story from someone else's point of view.

Oh boy, I didn't think this would be that hard when I chose this challenge. I guess that I will tell the story of my life from my daughter's point of view. Really she is sitting here telling me the story... LOL

"Momma was born, she was a baby for a while, then she was a little girl and she played dollies and babies. She got married to my daddy, and became a momma. And someday I wanna be a momma like her."

On 2peas the challenge is about What would you do if you knew you wouldn't fail? I don't really not do things because I am afraid to fail. I guess I don't talk to strangers face to face very often, I'm very shy when it comes to that. I know that you wouldn't think that about me, but it's true. :)

This is really a bIG step for me, I normally think that I’m not good enough or not as good as someone else is... I know really corny right?"

Evan Almighty

Hello guys, my family & I had family movie day, and we watched Evan Almighty. What a funny movie!!

"The last time we saw Evan Baxter (played by Steve Carell), he was being tormented by rival Bruce Nolan on screen, live from their Buffalo TV station. (see Bruce Almighty) But as time passed and Evan has made up with Bruce, he's gone onto bigger and better things. Newly elected to Washington D.C. as a congressman, Evan has left Buffalo, New York in pursuit of a greater calling. But that calling isn't serving in the illustrious ranks of America's politics, but being summoned by the Almighty himself, who has handed Evan the task of building a new ark, much as Noah did before. With time passing by and his family belittled by Evan's newfound realization, Evan will have to do the work that God has given him in what promises to be an unusual adventure for a man who just wanted to serve his country, might actually be serving humanity."

On the 40 days Scrapping for a Purpose - I am so very excited! I was the Diva of the Day on Divine Digital!!! That makes me so excited that they liked my Layout so much that I was honored to be their member layout of the day for January 11th. Check it out at http://www.divinedigital.com/forums/showthread.php?t=5144

Here's my Layout that I've completed for day 24.

Day 24: All About Me...

Journaling: "Ok, these sound like interview questions, and I really hate just journaling... but here they are...

My STRENGTH... is loyalty. Once I love you, I am behind you 100% all the time! Sorry guys your stuck with me! :) My WEAKNESS... is that I can’t say “NO” to people, so this makes it easy for people to take advantage of me. What INSPIRES Me... love inspires me, my husband’s love for me, our family & our friends amazes me! What EMPOWERS Me... Scrapbooking, it gives me a sense of accomplishment, I am so proud of my work, and it really feels great when I am complimented about Layouts or about my photography. My BEST Attribute... My legs... ok, I know that I am overweight, but I have really sexy legs! Something I want to CHANGE about me... Oh goodness... my weight I need to work out more & how I see myself! What I DESIRE most... a Baby. I want to have a baby more than anything in the world. I am PASSIONATE about... Breast cancer, I pray that they find a cure SOON! I am UNIQUE because... I am a foster parent, I am raising someone else’s children. However that also make me crazy!! There you are a little something ALL ABOUT ME!"

My friend, Kay says that humorous, caring, gracious, thankful, spirited, creative & humility (because you do not see all those traits), My husband, Marty, says that I am kind, caring, loving & nurturing, Other friends have said that I am loyal, friendly, a leader, outgoing and thoughtful. I think if I have to choose 3 that I would like to be... gracious, loving & outgoing!"

******************************************************************************

Now about my plans for the weekend. Well, I didn't get any of my organizing or cleaning done on my scrapbook area back a couple of weeks ago (Scrapping Plans) my scrap table has more "stuff" on it! UGH! Not scrap related stuff, just stuff that gets set on top of that flat surface! I read somewhere that there is a LAW OF THE FLAT SURFACE... that's where if there is a flat surface then it will get filled with stuff... that is soooooo true!

Whatever your plans... Happy Scrapping!

40 days of scrapping purpose... upated!

Hey guys, I know I've been kinda out of it lately. Marty's (my dh) grandpa's funeral was yestreday. It was very nice, and lots of people where there. You can go to Smith Family Funeral Home's Website to sign the guestbook & to view the video tribute. The video was very cool!

Now on to the 2 peas Challenge~ Do you try to join scrap/card challenges to keep you going on your projects? Or for inspiration from others?.....

I don't do a lot of challenges anymore....I use to do a lot, and I did it to keep me motivated, to keep the MOJO going. And the inspiration from others doesn't hurt that MOJO either. LOL I joined the 40 Days of Scrapping Purpose back in December, just to keep my mind off of my mom, and missing her, it hasn't helped.... okay, just a little it has helped. I've got done to Day 11, then got stumped, but then I did Day 12 & 13. I just went and looked today, and they have Days 14, 15 & 16 up already. Geesh, I'm getting behind. LOL The last one I showed you here is Day 9, so here is Day 10, 12 & 13... :) Enjoy! I am gonna work on Day 11, 14, 15 & 16 today, if I can. I was up most of the night sick, I think I got the flu from someone. :(
